All my Aliexpress MTB purchases reviewed.

Haven't ridden them, got the silly oversized tool ordered and some alu spacers... found I have a stash of alu spacers here, in the BB drawer and not in the spacer tray... the BB was crushing the plastic ones even with a strap wrench tightness.

Bought a load of SS and Ceramic bearings to fit BSA30 RF brackets a while back, sized 30 x 42 x 7mm, didnt realise they had a stupid tool size so it will be a vise-grip removal on the trail or bike shop if I stick with the ZTTO. Same bearing size, different tool... which nobody will have.
Removing a BB on the trail for max bush mechanic points

On the subject of BB's has anyone purchased 24mm spindle BB's from aliexpress that don't have the stupid plastic cover/shims. Eg come with 24mm ID bearings not 25mm...

First refund on Ali - car part. My fault I didn’t read full description and it was wrong but seller boasted 90 days returns. Contacted seller said I mucked up and need to return just kept saying you make mistake. Well yes but your page advises 90 days returns. Round and round so put in a refund request, seller of course rejected it.

Clicked the button to get Ali involved. Return label within 24hrs (interestingly to a NSW warehouse) and apparently I am a loyal Ali shopper so funds returned within 48hrs. So pretty happy with that outcome.

Yep

Yep put in a few refund requests. Some i have to mail back but hey no biggie they pay for postage. Others have let me keep the item and send me a new one like my oval chain ring first one they sent was round they said keep it and sent me an oval chainring. That was Pass Quest.

I tried to get a refund for an item at Ali once and didn't succeed.
It was a set of 6 lenses for 100% goggles. I didn't take the time to pore through every minute detail of the listing , I assumed they were cheap knockoffs of the genuine item , which I was fine with given the price of $30 odd.
When they arrived , I found they didn't fit in genuine 100% frames , they were for the knock offs! Makes sense in hindsight haha.
Anyways , I figured I'd attempt a return , the seller wasn't having it. Took it up with Ali , still no dice despite pointing out the wording of the listing didn't suggest they would only fit the fake frames.
I ended up giving them to a mate who has the fake 100%s , so happy ending for him.

I've got Sensah 2x11 on my stationary trainer bike and it's tops.
(I don't run any brakes as no need).
Watching for ltwoo erx v3 pricing or sensah to launch their electric variant

Anyone taken the plunge on sensah/microshift/ltwoo 1x10 or 2x10 road shifters?
Not the 10x, but have been running the GRT 12sp hydraulic brifters for around 1400km.

Shifting - starting to lag a little bit, especially on downshifts, as if the cable isn't being pulled the whole way. A gentle touch gets it all the way. Doesn't seem like cable tension as it's only on a specific point in the gearing.

Braking - this has been the big surprise. I paired the levers with existing SLX M7100 calipers for the build, did a lever-side bleed, and they've been bombproof since. Good power, good lever feel, very happy with the braking performance.

Brother in law runs 1x11 sensah road shifters (mech brakes). He's happy with the shifting but finds the braking function to be a bit shit. Not sure in what way it's shit, he has GRX 1x11 with hydro brakes on another bike so might just be used to the effectiveness of hydro?

Hubby runs 1x10 microshift sword road shifters with adventX derailleur and loves it. He has the aliexpress hydro/mech hybrid calipers (zoom brand I think)

Sensah 2x11 on my stationary trainer bike
Yeha looking at putting it on trainer bike as well. But there is a chance I may take it out for whatever reason. Who am I kidding, I won't I have too many other bikes lol.

Will be using existing bb7 road - don't think it gets more shit than that lol.

So options are:
- 4700 shifters and RD for about $150
- Sensah PHI/Quantum/Ignite + RD $90 (I know one is for 10 speed compatibility, another for the new 4700 10 speed compatibility, no idea why there is one more though!)
- LTWOO Shifters and Rd set -$90
- Sensah GRA shifter and Rd set - $140 (looks like a grx knockoff!)
- Microshift shifters and RD $90

Rekon just pony up for shimano? Kind of tempted to try more than realise the savings. Which one has the most shimano-esqu shifting. I know sensah has double tap style, which is ok but I wasn't a fan when I had sram.

Oh and I am sticking with 10 speed because I have a lot of 10 speed stuff to utilise like cassettes (I bought so many before the great geoblock!) chains and links etc.

I can't help with the Chinese group sets but the 10s GRX brifters have been excellent. I've got them mated to Hope RX4+ calipers for more stopees.

For those thinking about going down the linkglide drive train system. I bought this shimano LG-400 cassette from Ali. Yep it's the real deal BUT Shimano when they first brought out the LG-400 cassette it weighed 430g then they updated by dropping the weight down to 360g.

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100....order_list.order_list_main.47.14a71802QMuaxP This ones weighs 430g no biggie on a ebike but still I guess that's why I got for $85 delivered not $140 here in OZ

My first gen LG-700 (11-50) actual weight was 780g, I believe they shaved 160g off that for the next gen. Thats a lot of weight saved above.

Can't wait for cheaper Pinion (or other) gearbox designs! I saw a review of the Carbon Wasp and it looked so good, and with no fear of bashing a derailleur too!

Sure is, That is huge weight saving. Anything around 400gm for a wide ratio 11 speed cassette is great.

Its on my eeb so doesnt really matter, its a big lump of metal and the cogs are chunky as. Nearly 4000km on it and on the 4th LG500 chain. The only way they could have dropped that weight was thinner cogs, which may not have been a good thing for ebike drivetrain longevity, though without that extra torque, it would be fine on a regular bike.

Fair enough, nice to keep things trim is sensible but durability wins for me.

Decided I needed the ZTTO tool for the ZTTO BSA30 BB. Was about $15 for the tool only, then I found it with another BB for $30, thought seeing as I've added this can of worms to my parts in circulation, I might as well grab a spare.

Ordered the 12 notch tool as shown on the ad, with the exact 12 notch BB that I have on the bike.

What arrived is a redesigned BSA30 BB with another 16 notch standard
