All my Aliexpress MTB purchases reviewed.

Recently bought a pair of ztto 29er wheelset. Very impressed. Haven't buckled the rim yet, and hub is solid. $200 for a pair, can't really get a lot cheaper than that. I'm converted.

I've had these for 6 months on the hardtail and can't fault them so far. Still straight and tight spokes. Think they'll outlast the EX471's.

XC, Trail or Enduro riding? Also how much do they weigh?
Enduro and trail. It's on my nomad. I've hucked it to flat as well and it hasn't turned into a taco yet.

Not sure about the weight. Didn't weigh them before putting the tyres on.

I'm starting to get paranoid about coming off the bike and injuring myself so I have been thinking about shoulder, chest and back proection. I looked around the name brands and they start at $200 and then keep going up. I'm not sure if I'm going to handle riding in them in hot weather so I don't want to spend to much. These came up at $55 so I bought them we shall see how they go.

I’m going to suggest that those will be as useful as as a prayer session prior to each ride. I’d say it’s just super cheap foam that will do FA except maybe give you a false sense of security which might mean you take more risk.
I’d splash out for a quality brand because you generally know science of some sort or at least experience has gone into their research and materials and the good ones are designed to breath better so you might actually wear it in hotter weather.
If you want to wear protection then don’t skimp on price.
You really don’t want to find out the hard way that BenKen actually can’t.
That’s just my opinion.

I seem to remember a couple of people rocking cheap LTWOO drivetrains. Maybe @fjohn860 or @Wake Jake ??

Any feedback? Wanting something in the sweet spot of diminishing returns for use on a trail bike that will likely get rolled out 10-15 times a year so not heavy use.

Some protection is better than no protection.

Running the LTWOO TX 12S on two bikes with allow pulleys and it's great. No issues in 6+ months of used. The $80 derailleur/shifter combo is outstanding value for the performance. Can recommend 🙌

I was running a LTwoo AX 1x11 briefly.

It shifts fine, but no clutch on that model so not ideal for mtb'ing.

I am probably going to end up putting it on my old 96 ATX (which is grip shift) with a aliexpress wide range 8 speed cassette.

I've got the LTWOO GRT12 on my dropbar creation, still doing very well after about 1500km. That said, probably about time to replace the supplied inner cables as things seem to be getting a bit sticky, or need a bit more manual trim - yes, I know, it's indexed, but it clicks in, then sometimes needs a tiny nudge when downshifting to get it perfectly set.

What is ‘allow pulleys’??
Rough translation = alloy jockey wheels 😂

After just 1500km that is likely just cable stretch, half a turn anti-clockwise on the RD barrel adjuster and Bob's your uncle.

You greatly overrate Ali cables 🤣 Stretch was after a couple of hundred KM!
