Another heavy aluminium bike...

Merry fucking Xmas to you assholes
Mojo was Chris' suspension service/distro business up until last year.

Geometron is a separate company Chris started with others to market/assemble/distro the bikes.

Nicolai are a separate company in Germany are in partnership with Geometron to manufacture the bikes, to Geometron's specifications.

From what I can gather...

Ah got it. Thanks. I thought I had heard of Mojo before. It's weird that Fox did a real number on Mojo but continue to stand by Sola through thick and thin.

The bike industry needs to start measuring cockpits from handlebars to center of the seat-clamp (or BB to handlebar ends), as this actually has relevance. Just a very hard thing to do with seat tube angles and different extension heights, so "reach" is all we've got.
No shit! I'd much rather a measurement standard like that then this ambiguous "reach" nonsense. As it stands I just compare any bike's geometry with stuff I've ridden and do some educated guessing - which has been pretty accurate. But if you didn't have those points of reference it'd be a lot trickier. Some longer travel stuff (Sentinel, Firebird29) are boasting some truly monstrous reach figures on paper, but it's hard to know how that actually translates without trying one.

Also, that bike is completely insane. +1 on keenness for a ride report, especially dialing in that bit of coiled unobtanium that's lurking below the top tube...

So do Geometron get Nikolai to build custom G16s with different angles? Or are the frames the same as if you bought them from Nikolai direct?

They're extremely similar bikes. After Nicolai did the first Geometron's, they revamped their Ion range with a G-series (the Geolution bikes) which incorporated a lot of the design ethics of the Geometron's into their stock range, and then phased out entirely their non-G-Series models soon after.

Oh man, that's rough!!
Still, better to heal properly, the bike will be there when you're better.

Yes very annoying, looks like it might be a minor tear, so hopefully not too long a recovery. Always the way though!

Is that the stock colour on those forks? It looks highly rad.
Yes, stock RS colour...wanted something to set off the raw frame, and the black forks looked a bit glum in my opinion. Happy with the choice!

The raw finish is bestial. Love how the bike looks overall. The seat tube support machining really looks nice.

Hows the ext holding up? Is it worth while, it's a toss between the ext or sticking with the mrp hazard.

Been watching this (and the other thread) with interest. So much so I contacted Geometron and have been very impressed thus far with their ability to respond quickly and provide advice. I’m actually looking at the G15 on advice from Paul based on the kind of riding I do. So basically... before I pull the trigger is everyone still happy with their Geometron/Nicolai? Not too much bike? I was looking at the new Yeti SB130 or Ibis Ripmo, but ther is something about a handmade frame and the raw aluminium (currently on a CF bike) that really appeals to me.
