That new 'the grade' climb is pretty good. Consistent so you can sit in 1 gear, same gradient corners on the top part instead of flat corners.

Did the 24.6km Elevation Evaluation with my free 25km trial... as my subs ran out 8 days ago and I need a trial to remember :p

Thats a great loop. 25km/400vm and takes 1 hour... reckon I'll sub up for another month or two while I'm beerless ;)

I did the Mayan Mash route tonight which also took in this climb. It does get quiet brutal at the top with the no relief on the corners. Heaps of people riding it so was a bit of fun cat & mouse up there.

Its like down the esplanade on a sunny day, there are people everywhere on that climb.
 
Definitely a lot of action on the grade.
Always happens with new segments.
Mayan mash looks great, might do that tomorrow.
Riding up yesterday I wondered whether anyone had done it in "wet weather".
At 10% fall line and with big kerbs on both sides it would be the first virtual rafting segment on the platform

Well, they are prepping to bring rowing onto the platform. Maybe this can be the Jess Fox route.
 
Kicked these wings so many times in the dark after unplugging the trainer setup. Photoluminescent tape from Ali... we'll see how it goes.

Must hand these out to anyone who completes the climb. Used a coffee break in the middle of the climb (flat bit through the town) at about 1h10m to go have a piss, gets the KOM jersey at the top :p

Great work ! You and @Ackland smashed that 50,000vm out in a matter of months. Zwift likes to remind me, often... when I go to the membership page, that I have been a member since 27/6/21, only got the tron a few months ago and that took nearly 3yrs :)

Must have been, Epic KOM then crossed the finish line of the Grade, next thing I was awarded the polka dots :cool:

May have been a glitch but I'm taking it. The video on strava that zwift uploaded shows the exact moment... also someone we might know giving me a ride on ;)

Haha, I just recalled something similar happened on my ride Wednesday. Just rechecked the photos and yep.
Up the first half of Epic and through the finish gate to go down the Grade.

I think there is a fair bit of glitchy going on with the monkeypox around the new roads. I've been getting the kom a few times just descending it. Rode Mayan Mash yesterday with Bikealicious and all 91 of us got spots.

What !!! I was awarded that for my awesome speed up the hill ;)

After the Mayan Mash, I teleported to Miguel/Maria over at the volcano for a 5km chill cruise in a group and it let me keep the polka dot jersey on. I thought it disappeared after a certain time or distance away from the climb it was awarded on. The last time I got one it flew off my back after about 15 minutes, leaving me in my standard issue smelly duds.

Your kom was for 'climbing' The Grade in 8.8 seconds. Serious effort

These glitchy kom jerseys stay for as long as you stay riding. Only you can see it though. To everyone riding with you, you are still in your normal kit.
