Anyone ever stiched a tyre? Good or a waste of time?

Cut a tyre at Loftus today, first time in a while. Decided to try stitching it up when I got home. “Got years left in that mate!”

Need to get round to putting the tubeless repair widget in the bottom of the edc tool

Used a curved upholstery needle (with pliers) and dental floss. Bit of shoe goo to gunk it up a bit

Holding air easily at 40psi now after tiny bit of stans leakage on air up

Yes, did many Fatbike tyres back when they were basically a rubber bag (No tyre tech at all), just the same rubber compound with no reinforcing. Used to spike them with sticks regularly.

A few stitches to hold the hole closed, then patch it on the inside with a big bicycle patch or grab some motorbike tube patches for bigger holes.

7 psi and 5" of rubber is a pin cushion for sticks.

Nice job.
No but used plenty of urethane glue on the outside and patches on the inside.
Currently riding several tyres with sidewalls like that .

Never in the tread but plenty of times on sidewalls with a cordura patch. That looks like it'll do the job....
