If they're the same as the MTB pinch bolts, M6 x 18mm socket head. Local fastener shop should be able to sort you out.

If you haven't already checked, Shimano tech docs are really good.

Go here and type in your cranks - https://si.shimano.com/#/en/search/Keyword

As an example I searched Ultegra which gives you this PDF - https://si.shimano.com/api/publish/storage/pdf/en/ev/FC-6650-G/EV-FC-6650-G-2756.pdf

And for the washer - do you mean the one that goes over the two pinch bolts? Searching the code for #4 on that diagram (y-1ge98050) gives a few results on google, like - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Shimano...170425?hash=item2f4309acb9:g:eLcAAOSw2AteuYQD

I could actually do with a spare one of those retention plates as well , but what I'm really after is the pinch bolts and washers for the non-drive side crankarms
shimano pinch bolt part number y-1g398010 ---> Clamp bolt M6 x 19mm +washer

I have those exact 6650 Ice grey compact hollowtech II cranks :)

The factory-spec Shimano bolts are made of some cheese-like steel. As mentioned above, they're nothing unique in terms of shaft diameter, thread pitch or head diameter, so your Local Bolt Shop will be able to fix you up.

the washers are fairly thin though, and with an OD that's not much more than the ID. I looked at a few bolt shop pages, and fked if I can see washers to suit

washers nothing special either, pretty standard .
If you dont want to look just buy some with same OD and drill them out to suit.

Can confirm, recently had to hammer a torx into a M9020 pinch bolt to get it out after it rounded. Original bolts weren't much chop, have since replaced with some nice Ti alternatives.

Is there a reason why some are 18mm and others are 21/22mm long? Also does the taper bit do anything at all?

post me washers and tell me OD needed, I can turn OD down in the lathe in 20 seconds.
hey link. the washers are 6.65mm approx ID, and 9.75mm OD approx. slightly convex on the upper side, and slightly convex with a small lip on the ID edge.
thickness is 1.10mm. (measured on my vernier callipers)

I'll have to see what I can lay hold of, but they appear to be a bit different from a standard flat washer, to seat in the recesses better, I guess.

Bolts for Ultegra FC 6650-g crankset and Zee FC-M640 both seem to be M6 x 19mm. closest I can find to that is M6 x 20mm

Mr Greenfield
I can easily make from those measurement.

Washer can be flat, slightest amount of force will flatten the washers, their shape will be a result of stamping.

The bolt, is that 19mm of thread not including the head?

Don't bet on Ti being stronger, I gained a very nice Deda stem for my roadie thanks to a mate breaking the head off a M5 Ti bolt that he had supposedly used a torque wrench on.
I was surprised how easily I managed to drill it out with a new drill bit (using a drill press and vice probably helped a lot)

The original pinch bolts on the SLX, XT are Ti in the first place, the one set of deore I own has some type of high grade stainless. Never broken the pinch bolts on any of the 7 Shimano cranks I own and some are older than 8 years.

I always (mostly??) use a bit of anti-seize grease on those pinch bolts. not had a problem to date.
