Baby oil in shimano xt brakes...convince me otherwise!

So I am in desperate need, and my 1 litre of shimano mineral oil is still days away. We've all heard about it, Duckmeister even ran a test in his shop with some old brakes...I'm doing it! Unless in the next 45 minutes (about to board a train) you can convince me otherwise.

Bleed begins in 5 minutes. Just been eating a delicious fruit sour dough with enough butter to save an african republic. Then drink coffee. Then bleed. Will report this arv on bleed and initial feel.

You could of at least splashed out on top dollar oil...sheesh......

Do one lever with woollies brand and the other with J&J or Harrods baby oil. :bounce:

Its about the butter!

The verdict is in...(short term):
- easy to use. Being clear made it very easy to gauge how clean my fluid was. As a bonus my hands feel nice and soft. I'm in for some good loving tonight!
- brakes feel just fine. Good firm pull up. Enough power to skid in the hallway and in front of the house.

Given this outcome tomorrow I will ride into combat on them and see how they handle heat!

I couldn't rightly say. Too long no doubt! Pads were fucked too. Had less than 1mm of surface left. I was noticing a little spring contact and thought I'd take a peek...uh-oh. I was sure I had fluid...nope. Shit! Back in the dark recess of the mind I knew I'd seen reference to baby oil bleeds. Now I'm the crash test dummy.
