Jenson USA have some good deals on Niner carbon forks at the moment. Just got a set for the commuter for $381 delivered.

Hey asterix

How did you get these? It notes on their site that they can't deliver to Aus.
I assume you used some sort of forward shipping company? Some details would be great. PM me if you prefer.

Edit - for some reason the niner fork with 15mm maxle cannot ship to Aus. Anyone got recommendations on forward shipping?

Yeah just had a look & it seems that the shipping restrictions apply only to the 15mm t/a. The 9mm qr they will ship. I was surprised when it let me order & ship the 9mm ones as I was fully expecting to be told they wouldn't ship to Australia.

I don't know about you but $400 for a brand new set of 650b DH wheels is pretty good. Ez's 26" Spike's have held up pretty well... and the reviews are good.

Merlin Cycles currently has a sale on for a bunch of gear which includes:

Shimano Saint M820 Front and Rear Brake Set for $300
https://www.merlincycles.com/shimano-saint-m820-disc-brakes-front-rear-set-59048.html

bare in mind this is the Euro version so front is left trigger and back is right, i think there is a part you can get to convert it at low cost

I just nabbed those and two 180mm RT86 Ice Tech Rotors for <$400 landed in AU, pretty good deal i think

Also note worthy is the current 10% sale on Hope gear at Merlin bringing the Tech 3 E4 brake set front and rear down to $404 landed in AU (if you like black) $100 cheaper than CRC

Just swap the hoses over and rebleed once installed. You'd need to cut the hoses to shorten the lines anyway. New olives required.

Definitely should have gone to specsavers
I have the 26" version on my hardtail and they are great, reliable and easy to service. Only drawback is they are 24 spoke so when one goes they go right out of whack.
They spin better than my Crossmax wheelset as well.
Cheers Azza, I didn't see that they were 24 spoke wheels - the photo looks like 32 spoke. 24 is probably too few for a heavy bugger like me!

It might not be, they are relatively wide (by old standards) at 21mm internal and make up for the spoke count by having a very robust rim.

What he said. Low spoke count for what they are aimed at. I have both the expert and pro in the lighter Black Flags. Great wheel, but I run them on the wifes and sons bike. I tried them, but found them a bit flexy.
I think the expert are J bend spoke (they are in the flags), my mate ran the charger pro, and got enough flex for the SP spoked to pop out of the hubs when ridden hard.

Now you've got me confused moorey. According to the interwebs the internal distance on the expert is 22.8mm (http://sun-ringle.com/mtb/wheelsets/charger/), but I agree that's still narrow and if you find them flexy with your greyhound-like physique, I'll have no chance.
1. I was going off the quoted above 21mm, not official specs.
2. I'm running the XC Black Flags, not the trail/am chargers.
3. My mate who popped the spokes rides VERY hard....and his must have been Pro's if they were straight pull.
4. I'm fat, just very short.

I think for that money, they are a great buy.

Yep - sorry, you were just quoting Azza.
