This seems like a pretty good price

These are even better deals!

Stanton bikes are selling gen 3 steel frames cheaper, and supposedly half price shipping, but a Switch9er frame shipped to Oz still falls on the wrong side of $1k. with a total shipped cost of $1075. I would be up for about $190AUD of duty and GST according to the calculator.

Still worth it? Anyone got one here?

Can't speak for the switch9er but my gen 3 Sherpa is my fav bike of all time and I've owned pivots, ibis, carbon spesh etc.

The Sherpa always puts a smile on my dial. Super smooth and quiet for a hardtail.

Cool!
how is the Sherpa marketed by Stanton vs how it actually rides for you?
Stanton's product copy seems tp give the impression that it's a one bike quiver sort of thing, that climbs well and you can ride it for hours.
There are really only Switch9er's in my size (18") I do like the idea of a short rear chainstay for railing corners and popping out etc

I've previously had alloy hardtails and generally tended to use them mostly as gravel type bikes. I ride the Sherpa way more on actual trails and it's very comfortable for a hardtail (currently running 2.6s). Also worth noting that the Stanton geo numbers are at sag so the bikes are actually a bit slacker/capable than suggested.

It climbs awesome and I've done a heap of backcountry type rides on it through the brindabellas etc with faster 2.3 tyres (100 plus ks, 2000 plus vertical gain). And big days linking up a whole bunch of different trails across Canberra etc.

I've gone weeks without touching the dually so yep the marketing is actually not BS.

Did I mention I love the sherpa ?

I could be wrong, but that's not overly high for a top end HT frame, is it?

No, I was just wanting to get one under the threshold, but if I want a stanton/cotic/other similar steel HT frame, I guess they are all going to be north of 1K. Ultimately yes, I have to suck it up and get comfortable with being charged Australia tax.

Didn't @oldcorollas work out the import duty concessions a while back? I thought frames were okay to bring in as long as the right code was applied at customs?

This goes here, but also in the Douche listing too, if only for the reasons I have to sell it :(

Garmin 810 on clearance.

Dude, medical expenses is the absolute opposite of a Confessions thread post.
Life gives us a kick in the gonads sometimes. All we can do is navigate it as best we can. 🤜🤛

Cheers man, appreciated. Just somehow feel like i should've been better prepared, but getting through it as we can.

It's normal to have those feelings of wishing you were better prepared, whatifs, and such. I'm experiencing that right now with looking after my Mum. I'm approaching the point at which I may not be able to look after her with the level of care she needs. It's a whole Pandora's Box of Could Have/Should Have/Would Have. None of which is helpful to anyone.

Life things sometimes just sneak up on us.

IXS XACT "cost focused" FF, $89.
Could be BO first little shipment test with old stock/colors?
The Red/grey has all sizes
May be older model being phased out?
I've got the Trigger FF, and rate. it. Haven't "fully tested" it yet, thankfully, but is light, comfy, and for my head much nicer that the Fox Proframe, which seemed to break just from looking at it.
