I’m not familiar with e13 cranks so had to do quite a bit of digging around chainring interface and bb compatibility, seeing what will work with spares in the shed. Cheers for the offer but I pulled the trigger already

Bike chain have a 20% off for the Tour Down Under.

I bought some stuff from then after Christmas and it was dispatched quickly and correctly.
They are good if you need bits for Hope Pro 4. 20% off will get you closer to UK prices.

If you are happy with a boost kit they have some 29er rear wheels pretty cheap ($290).

Thanks for this one @slowmick !

I saw that. Prices look good. Are the tires any good?
I reckon they are. Bit of experience with the Newton MTF / MTR; great all weather grip, durable, good quality, last a while. They're a bit heavy, but the trail compounds shave a little weight off. Haven't tried the Downhill casings.

Only a few months on the Escape Max but been very happy with them too. Might grab some Wrangler 2.6s for those prices to try them next.

I still have some first gen Newtons on the Trance - for its role these days as my more XC bike they're good, but only in dry weather. Lethal tyres on anything approached damp rocks etc.

Yeah I've still got a set of the older "EN Ultimate" Newton compound (or whatever it was called) somewhere. As you say, absolutely f***ing evil in the wet. Half decent in the dry though, roll pretty well.

Concur on the EN Ultimate and wet weather. Ran them on the hardtail briefly before I saw the error of my ways

Not necessarily a bargain and definitely not RB standard size but it would be a cool thing to own!

Yeah, I saw that pop up this morning, right size for me, but alas budgetary contraints mean it ain't gonna happen!
