Hey guys just thought i would start up this thread as im reloacting from VIC to QLD for a while. Am keen to get out and find some nice long AM style, au natural (i.e no berms, gaps, tabletops etc) descents like the Klingsporn (7km from mt buller to the valley) in VIC. Does anybody know of anything up in the hills?

PM me if its secret.

Not in Brisbane. Mt Joyce has the longest singltrack but it is machine built and bermy. We just don't have the mountains like buller!

There is heaps of fire trail all over our" little mountains " that often turns to single track because of over growth and I have come across some of the most challenging terrain just riding off into the mountains at the back of greenbank and spring mountain. Rock gardens that the motos avoid and steep rutted tracks that require 100% concentration. There is a lot of epic rides through mt nebo and mt glorious that require a high level of fitness but unfortunately are only fire trail. There is a lot of potential up here for some incredible rides in natural terrain, because although the mountains aren't huge they often start from a low height above sea level. When did mountain bikes require a bike park any way? I enjoy getting out seeing new terrain, not knowing what's around the next corner and wondering where the hell I am :fat:

Nebo and Glorious. You might find some trails in and around Mt Mee just watch out for the 4wds.

hmm just been looking at mt maps and its looks like off the back of mt glorious down to wivenhoe dam through the state forest could be a goer...

as soon as my shoulder heals ill go check it out...im hoping its not just a dirt road or 4wd track

Try Nerang. There's a ride every Saturday that leaves the Specialised shop (opposite the Commercial Pub) at 2:45pm. They'll show you around. Plenty of fun trails in Nerang but it's rocky.

yep found some! its good here that all the undergrowth is so verdant and lush...a 4wd track left for a year or so without being driven soon becomes awesome singletrack! Did a very nice 16km descent (with a nasty climb in the middle) from rainforest to farmland and everything in between on an absolute mix of surfaces! Got covered in cow shit tho!

Ill organise some rides soon if anyone is interested

Sounds good retro, I love cow shit. Cows make awesome singletrack.
