" wonder if the same policy applies for something like " um catching a chairlift or t-bar while skiing or boarding . YES but they aren't worth the paper they are written on. Ski resorts get sued all the time but they have a huge legal team and money and time to wear you down. Many claims don't go the distance even if they are in the right.
If you fell off a chairlift. Id say theyd be in a bit of strife… like one’s self too

This is where the ambulance chasing injury lawyers come in. The ones that advertise everywhere and work pro bono.. those vultures will win any legit claim even if they take most of your settlement in fees

One of the funniest things I have ever seen was a client in Japan getting caught in such a tangle. He was a hefty built fellow, maybe 120kg at 175cm high. The chair unloading was very close to the giant pulley...he was slow to dismount, the corner of the chair caught his backpack, threw him face down in knee deep pow, then dragged him around the pulley and maybe 10 metres before the lifty (an older Japanese man) was able to stop laughing and hit the stop button. The lifty then had to help him untangle the backpack. It was all so funny.

And commonly the problem is you need to prove the damage was done at that exact time, good for those who take selfies etc all the time but not so great for those who just take care of their stuff and dont really photograph it too much. A mates motorbike had marks on it that weren't there the day we took delivery of it in Sydney, big deal to get it all sorted.
