Yet another dig on this thread, however it is missing a few now. I have bought three bikes since March this year, all new. I used to be a Gateshead cycles fan when I knew the owner, haven't really used them since they changed hands. I bought a byk 510mtb for miss7 and a lapierre roady (don't even ask it's shamefully to admit) for mrs bennyp1 from cheeky velosport in warners bay. I found all the boys and the owner really helpful and knowledgable. The help they gave the mrs in setting up her roadie was invaluable, right down to the owner of the shop showing her how to change a tube ( she doesn't listen to me). Both of my kids 7 and 9 have since made their own purchases of gear there and get treated like any customer.
I also bought a specialized pitch 650b for mr9 from drift. They have a beautiful shop and did everything I asked. Haven't tried them for mechanical yet as the waiting for a service doesn't suit with my need it done now nature:crazy:

I would recommend both it depends on which bike brand you want.
