chain guide/bash guard conversion???

Hey, I have a Giant AC with RaceFace Prodigy DH 4 arm cranks and rings and was considering converting to single ring up front so as to put a chainguide and bashguard on... what do you think of these products and how effective do you think they will be???

The bash ring is for about 32T I think, and the chainring is 38 or 40. Your chainring will be bigger than the bashguard.

So, maybe I can still go for that 40 tooth downhill ring and possibly look into another bashguard..... I know that the evil guards are a lot bigger. Obviously though that DH chainring must be designed to take a bashguard and they are both Race Face????

The main question is though, would be a fairly simple conversion and would it sit ok with the nine speed and my existing cranks... which is why I wanted to go with all raceface!!

Sorry, by the way, I plan to use the chainguide that is given with the bike... it's just a ripoff MRP guide but it seems to be fairly strong and if it breaks after time I can always replace it... may as well use it while I can!!

the ac guides dont work. i rang the giant guy and he said dont use it they are crap. and he ought to know. get a blckspire. they come with a ring. or get an aireal but you may need spacer for it to fit your bottom bracket
wither way it will work way better and you wont loose your chain at all
