Hey,

So moving to Colorado for a while due to work. Obviously that part of the world is pretty awesome for xc/am riding.......but just sussing if anyone has any specific recommendations of places to ride I should check out around there? Any of the ski resorts any good in summer. And before you ask, yes Moab is on the to-do list, so rides down that way would be sick too if people could recommend a few.

Cheers guys/girls...........much appreciated

frutia is probably the most well know place to ride and absolutely amazing scenery, but for the best ideas look at the tour company web sites and see where they take tours.

We did a US/Canada road trip in 2010 and took in Colorado. We rode Fruita, Durango, Crested Butte, Winter Park in Colorado. Durango and Crested Butte have some epic rides which you can either do yourself or with a company or get shutttled to the start. Some of the rides do require a shuttle to the top or you could ride to the top (eg 401 in Crested Butte). Both Crested Butte and Durango were highlights from our road trip (rated above Moab), not only was the riding awesome but the scenery was magic and the towns were so inviting you just wanted to stay one more day.
Enjoy!
