I'm struggling to understand why the dogs were put down and not the owner.

Mr Morrow said the dogs were not walked often because they lived on a large property and it was the children's responsibility to exercise them during December 2022 while he was away overseas.

So I’ve been chasing down a noise on E-Trance since I brought it, finally worked out it’s the front rotor and Foxs floating axle on the 36s, so after resetting it multiple times and adjusting everything from different rotors and even changing out the brake but no luck.
So I decided to convert it back to standard using the kit from Fox and Burgtec axle from @shiny, so I go to remove the front wheel to start what should be a 5 minute conversion, the universe says otherwise.
Crack the pinch bolt, easy, go to crack the axle, mmm… nothing, fark that’s tight and something not right, grab my longer allen key, no dice, slip a seat post on for leverage and crack finally it starts turning, tight but turning.
Slowly it frees up but then it just spinning, so I look further into it and see the forks are spreading apart but the axle is not coming out, fark what is going on? As I turn the axle I can see the end caps turning so I grabbed the end caps and turn the axle, nope not happening, okay grab some vice grips and WD spray, lube it up and try again, nope.
Okay let’s try hot water and see if some science will help, fark no, okay red mist is building, let’s try a tap of the mallet and Allen key socket, still not moving. Further investigation reveals the end caps are well truly jammed on, now I’m worried about damaging the forks trying to get the axle out but the mist is building and this 5 job has turned into 90 minutes and an angry Cammas, fuck it I have a new axle and spare front wheel, time to get out the big guns out.
I go to the cupboard and grab out the angle grinder and a thin cutting disc, first I cut off the threaded end then due to the design of floating axle I was able to cut the head of the axle off by sliding the wheel over just above the end cap. Then I could wiggle the wheel out, by this time it’s dark and I’m annoyed, grab the spare wheel and the axle kit, I had it installed within minutes, I will investigate further on the weekend what has happened to axle.
Oh yeah I couldn’t test if this fixed it until this morning and finally it is dead quiet as it should be.

TLDR - axle was jammed in the end caps and Cammas got angry and cut the axle to get the wheel off with an angle grinder so his brake wouldn’t rub anymore.

Okay so this morning I was little calmer but it took some persuading tools to get the axle out of the hub.
From what I tell the end caps was the cause of the problem, as the non disc side was seized to the axle and the axle had to be persuaded out of it, once it was freed the axle just fell out but the other side end cap slide to the end but it too wouldn’t come off.
So into a pot of boiling water it went and it eventually came off but still not freely, looking at the caps it was the inner of each one binding on the axle, the only thing I can think of is that I’ve over torqued it when putting it the wheel on last but I would use the torque wrench, the only thing I can think of is that I didn’t last time I took the wheel off, which I can’t even remember when it was. So a new set of end caps and it’ll be fine, bearings seem fine but I will replace them while it’s apart.
Oh and Fox seemed to be mocking me too, as you can see by the marks below where it was jammed.

What does it read? it looks a bit like "Good luck and good riddance" 😬

I just pressed out a frame bearing only for the bearing to fall to pieces leaving the outer race basically welded from Tassie weather to the bearing housing. There wasn't enough flat surface to get purchase for a bearing extractor, so I had to use a Dremel to put a split in the outer race to get it out. Definitely want my 3 hours back.

Wonder if the Vegemite sandwich trick for removing gearbox pilot bearings would work???
