I'm hoping they can start making some big inroads OS in the next few months, because the World Championships for the type of boat I sail are planned to be held at Geelong (almost home waters) in just over a year. If the international contingent aren't able to come over, the regatta won't be going ahead. The last time the Worlds for this class were held locally was 1998!. I just want to be able to say I've competed on an international level!

The final decision probably won't be made until later this year, but still, things need to start turning around fairly soon in order to inform a positive decision. Aside from personal quarantine, overseas sailors will need enough time to plan for shipping their boats over.
