I recently had an issue with my Magura brakes that I bought from a retailer in the US. Couldn't resolve the issue with the retailer (he wasn't responding to my emails) so I contacted Magura in the US who then passed me over to Magura Asia Pacific. I thought I was getting the run around but stayed polite and reiterated the issue each time.

Once Magura Asia Pacific put me on to the local distro in Australia I looped the US retailer back in and he magically responded once it wasn't his issue to fix anymore. All he had to do was confirm my purchase history and the Aus distro was super-awesome and quick at resolving the problem.

Not sure if this is helpful but I agree it might be more effective to go straight to local Merida distro and outline all your efforts to resolve things locally with no luck.
