I was about 5km away!

So if all the god botherers are praying for the cyclone to make landfall some place else how does god work out who to fuck over? Is it first past the post? Volume? Density or some preferential system?

On a lighter note agood mate and colleague had a house and shed on the beach when one of the biggies hit a few years ago. His elderly father was alone at the house. No power, no comms. Mate drove up from Bris. House was destroyed. Father weathered in the shed. Big roller door bolstered by their beach truck and chains. Generator singing out the back. Dad sitting in the now sunshine with an esky full of cans, can in hand.
The people on the southern side (the most powerful zone) of this are in for it, wouldn't want to be on one of the Bay islands tomorrow night.

If religion has taught us nothing (and it hasn’t), it’s that God helps those that help themselves.

I grew up there...attended Cooroy state school and Noosa District State High.
Sigh. Me three, well 1ry for year 7. You were a couple of years following me. We used to ride out to Cooroy mtn.

I got the wrong cyclone. It was Wanda not Zoe.

The rain will be the worst thing, just get out of there if you can.

It is so weird. Eye is less than 300km away and while it looks like a cyclone is coming the weather isn't normal. Big migratory birds departed on Tues, they are back this afternoon. Strong wings earlier in the day after a night and morning of calm. Now a gentle breeze and scuds of rain. I went for a 75 minute walk and only got mostly wet. Previous experiences all built up to the big bang. No on again off again effects. Fucked if I know what's going on Agnes.

@indica my wife was scared during normal qld storms in that house.
