Anyone else a keen follower of the Dakar?
Race started a few days ago & is solely in Peru this year.
Great coverage on Sbs nightly @6pm.
Catch up Sbs on demand anytime.

The best thing about xmas is Dakar starts 2 weeks later
I love Dakar, have followed it for many years (was Paris - Dakar back in the day).

Haven't caught any of this year yet but plan to catch up on the weekend when back home from camping.

I was introduced to the TV coverage on SBS in the late 1990's & have watched most years since then.
2019 is the 1st time in Dakar history that's it's been held just in one country.
2008 was the year it was cancelled due to 'terrorist threat' (on the African continent).
2009 was the 1st year in South America & has been there ever since.

Hopefully Toby Price (bikes) will get another good result.
There is a Holden ute racing too this year.

Well done to the Aussie Toby Price winning bikes. Full Dakar with a 4wk old wrist fracture.

All I want to know is why my Hilux doesn’t sound like that Dakar Hilux ??? Could be something to do with the 5.0L midmounted V8 !

If you want some more details of the Dakar from Toby have a listen to the gypsytales podcast it's a good listen. Unbelievable to see him win with his injury.
