DH Bike suggestions for 12yr old

Hi

I am looking for a second hand DH / Freeride bike for my 12 year old boy

He has ridden a 2010 Kona Stinky Six at Thredbo which was a size 15" or small
We are looking to get something of similar vintage, stand over and travel

I am also happy to consider a small enduro / all mountain bike

Any suggestions / feedback would be appreciated

Is this fellow intending to race? Or just have a thrashing good time? What sort of budget do you have?

If he is a normal sized 12 year old, look for.something with air suspension. This will make it a lot easier to keep the forks and shock tuned as he grows and keep the weight down. Low stand over and bottom bracket are going to be important as well (unless he is tall).

If he doesn't want to race, consider a slope style influenced bike as well. Light and manoeuvrable, and he can take it to the dirt jumps, bmx track, skate park, etc...unlike a DH sled. This will mean you aren't running shuttles every weekend.
