MY wife has just started into riding MTB and is using my old race bike: https://www.specialized.com/us/en/bike-archive/2011/sjfsr/sjfsrprocarbon/23335
I'm thinking of putting a dropper post on it for her but am wondering about the geometry given stock it runs a setback post, Thomson Elite Setback w/ 12 degree, will a straight post move the seat to far forward and make things to cramped?
At the moment when she rides it I have the seat slamed down as she feels more comfortable on it, as a side benefit she does alot of standing pedling which I'm a big fan of.
