Thanks. We took a gamble on the matte colour as we had never seen this colour in person before. Decision was made with google photos lol, the Hyundai website was completely off. That's a good looking car
Did you get the back windows blanked off or is that factory? Thanks. We took a gamble on the matte colour as we had never seen this colour in person before. Decision was made with google photos lol, the Hyundai website was completely off.
Even the dealer was surprised at how good the colour was, it was the first one for them too. But because matte paint is a pain with scratches, it goes off for full PPF (and tints) on Monday.

So no option for a tint delete then, thats pretty shit. But why would that not be legal...?It's factory.
Every place was telling me they can't match it for the front, well legally anyway. I'll leave that up to the missus what she wants to do for that, as it's her car. I just pay the bills!
That’s privacy glass rear. Have it on our Kia. It’s great and looks darker in low light but can’t get tints to match due to state rules. Super weird. So no option for a tint delete then, thats pretty shit. But why would that not be legal...?
Its just the privacy glass, there is no actual tint on the glass itself. I can't remember if the sun shades were up on the windows in that pic, it would make it look a lot darker than it really is.So no option for a tint delete then, thats pretty shit. But why would that not be legal...?
So you’d have to actually replace the glass to get rid of it… That’s crap. Still not sure they that would be illegal though? Its just the privacy glass, there is no actual tint on the glass itself. I can't remember if the sun shades were up on the windows in that pic, it would make it look a lot darker than it really is.
The places I called said that there is no restriction on the rear windows for darkness, just the fronts. Because of that it's hard to match the tints as the rears are generally darker than allowed on the front. One guy did say that the Hyundai privacy glass is pretty dark, and if the front was matched it would reduce visibility at night. I've had cars in the past where the windows were as dark as the tinter would go, and he has a point.
lovely looking car, interested to hear the ride reportWe took a gamble on the matte colour
I haven't driven it much as I'm currently doing a spot of FIFO, however the PPF and tints were finished last week. Wifey has been driving it all week and is happy with it. However, I drove it this morning and initial impressions are:lovely looking car, interested to hear the ride report
Let us know if they've fixed (or provided the option to switch off without entering a menu) the audible "over"speed warnings. I love the look of the Ioniq 6 but would kill it with fire if it beeped every time I drifted 1km/h over the speed limit!I haven't driven it much as I'm currently doing a spot of FIFO, however the PPF and tints were finished last week. Wifey has been driving it all week and is happy with it. However, I drove it this morning and initial impressions are:
- The ride is firmer than the non N-Line version, but not uncomfortable.
- It's deceptively large. Looks like a hatch but its got the same 3m wheelbase as our previous CX-9 which was a tank. Interior space is great.
- NVH is good, I expected more tyre noise on 20's but it's certainly not intrusive. It's got Michelin Pilot Sports on it.
- The standard drive mode is sedate, poke it in the guts and it certainly wakes up and gets moving.
- The regen braking is good, not as violent as the BMX iX2 we drove, but a nice balance of slowing down without being harsh (unlike the Polestar 2 I was in last night on the way back from the airport, fark that was a bit rough).
- It sits and corners very flat, steering is direct and I think you could have a bit of fun on twisty roads with it.
- The seats are good, the alcantara grips you and you don't slide around. Don't know how long its going to last though.
- The Bose stereo is ok, not mind blowing but acceptable.
- Bluelink is ok, it's nice to be able to pre-condition and check on the car the car remotely. I believe the earlier models didn't have this.
- All the safety warnings are annoying, you can mute some of them though.
- Still need to find time to browse the user manual, which is several hundred pages! Also, I haven't set up my profile in the car, play with the settings, wireless carplay etc etc.
- I removed the ugly factory number plate bracket this morning and put on a slimline one.

On ours you long press the mute volume button on the steering wheel and it turns the overspeed warnings off. Until next time you get into the car (and probably when disengaging cruise control or some other silly thing). It will still make a noise when the speed limit changes though.Let us know if they've fixed (or provided the option to switch off without entering a menu) the audible "over"speed warnings.
