I missed this:

The ID.R is second only to the unrestricted Porsche 919 Evo LMP1 racer; not bad for a car with barely more than half the power-to-weight ratio.

Kryten does an excellent job midway through this video explaining EV vs ICE emission comparisons:

Interesting, Mazda. Didn't even expect this out now

And a deliberate decision to only spec it with 180km range. Interesting - obviously plenty for a whole lot of people, but the marketing and idiot Aussies all think 1000kms is the minimum needed!

Yes , same as the Nikola deal - although that one is 2025 .
i don’t disagree with your GM sentiments tho - they have history with doing the wrong thing .
whilst arguing ‘coz business case ‘
but they have purchased, part owned or bought to bury multiple technologies- maybe in order to protect profits into the near future .
But , GM as a rule is giant money laundering scheme . All legal , of course .

The new c8 corvette is proof that they can achieve an engineering outcome , designed to perform at a reasonable
ble price , some are arguing it is a loss leader , others are claiming it’s the second coming of GM engineering and marketing working together - that would be a first in my opinion .
ICE cars are not going to magically disappear , hybrid tech will come quickly , pure ev is awesome - but the tech is a little way off , mostly due to govt inaction on infrastructure- Tesla has overcome this problem by building its own network in Us n Europe .
in addition like bikes ( both standard and e ) new hybrids and evs are fairly expensive , most of the buying public will continue to own a ice car due to replacement costs - manufacturers build better cars now , but they are not designed to be repaired once a major failure occurs , GM is the master of this , some manufacturers are pre programming check this ,check that into the ecu at set mileages , usually around 4 yrs old .
The next 5 yrs are going to be exciting from a tech perspective but terrifying for some from a social respective .
