Merlin has some waaaay cheaper prices on Transition frames, do they geoblock ?
I stuck one in the "Cart" a month or two back to investigate just that, and yeah nah - no luck. Would love a Transition Throttle but the frames are a good $1000 over what they should be retail here.

Not sure how you figure they are 1K more expensive. All pricing is based of US MSRP's - which do not display the extra taxes levied on purchase.
US ( before tax) MSRP on a Throttle frame is $1699 USD. Current Bank exchange rate is 0.7 ( no, you can't use a standard currency converter as that is usually a live market rate not a consumer rate ) so you have $1699 / .7 is $2427.14 AUD ... so that with GST is $2669.86 Aussie .... and thats before duties and freight.

UK MSRP on a Throttle frame is $1799 Pounds .... Convert that to Aussie at .54 gives you $3331.48 Aussie Dollars.....

Aussie RRP on a Throttle frame is $2999.

More importantly, it isn't a dually and this thread is still not filled with photos of fresh dual suspension rigs that these "fuck that experience changed my life" hard tail riders are talking about...throw up more porn you clowns!!!

Uncalled for picture of a happy pedestrian Tranny for Xero not to miss the bush in the middle of all that snow...

This bike changed my life, yada, yada, yada... welp, no, it didn't but I love it.
Hows that rear shock compare to the monarch?
DPX2 right?

And if you love it so much WHY ARE YOU BUYING A NEW ONE

It's an old Float X that I got cheap 2nd hand.

It's plusher than the Monarch, but somehow it makes the bike hang on medium sized hits or so it feels as it uses a lot of travel nevermind the air pressure. It may be the air can, I did not play enough with it, tbh.

Actually, I just put the Monarch on again this week and I liked it better. Not as plush, but more poppy. It makes the rear end feel alive.

Think of it like when you've been in a relationship for very long and you start looking at other gals just because that tingles your shingles.
You know your gal makes you happy and it more than enough for your riding, but you can't help but trying something else. LOL

Cheers mate. I won’t waste my moneys then. The monarch stays!

I deffinately get the second point. Every couple of weeks I build a new bike. Yet to pull the trigger though, tbh it’ll probably be another scout I buy. MAYBE a patrol. Maybe.

Some numpty bought a 190x51 for his Stumpy only to find that the air can fouls on the frame. Looks mint on that babe of a frame though...got a CCDB Coil for it if you want as well, special price for repeat customers. :D
Haha! Oh, you were the fellow Territorian who sold me the shock! I need to ride the red centre sometime.
Let me think about that CCDB. Me loves coilz.

Same here. Come Mondays and I don't want/need/desire any other bike. Come Wednesdays and I'm lusting after another ride, lol.

After much looking and comparing I've pretty much decided on a Norco Optic, last years A1 version is available at a price that allows for some upgrades to end up with a spec to my liking. The Trek Fuel 8 is second, and the 15% BUPA discount hard to ignore, but the Optic's more lively ride (as described in various reviews) seems to fit in better with what I want from a new bike.
