If Vettel was just faster, then he should have been able to challenge, but if he was only so hard on Webber's tail because Mark had been told by the team that there was no threat, and to back off, then that's another matter. Doubt we'll ever know exactly what went on though.
Remember not all of the radio comms are broadcast on the telecast. I don't even remember hearing the multi-21 message go out. I thought that was just something that was raised when Mark mentioned it in the post race. Its interesting that Webber was told to reduce revs and Vettel had been advised multi 21... I dont recall hearing Vettel to reduce his engine revs. May have to watch the race again. If mark was not told to reduce revs that would have been interesting to see if the result was the way it was.

Personally I reckon 'multi' refers to the fact that the engine is still be used in multiple races so a bit of conservation is needed. The 2-1 is fairly obviously driver position.
I read somewhere that "multi" refers to multiple podium spots, and yeah, the numbers are car order.Personally I reckon 'multi' refers to the fact that the engine is still be used in multiple races so a bit of conservation is needed. The 2-1 is fairly obviously driver position.
I have a fear that every movie about a certain form of motorsport will suck big turd covered balls. Driven did it's part to dismantle any credibility CART had in the later years of it's existence, Days of Thunder portrayed NASCAR as something other than a chest beating fest but I think this movie (Rush) may be okay if it doesn't make Formula One look amateur. I hope it does make Lauda look like the flogger that he is though.
