Cheers. Felix likes Shimano. I concur.
I just need some clarification on a DM ring for the Shimano 12sp cranks with 11sp chain/cassette.
I read the 12sp shimmy chain is different, and only suits Shimano 12sp ring. That doesn’t necessarily mean an 11sp chain won’t work, or that another DM ring like Burgtech won’t work. I’m awaiting info before buying wrong one. Time for a thread maybe.
cheers.
The teeth shape is different with 12spd Shimano.
I haven't tried an 11spd chain with 12spd ring.
You could always run a 12spd chain which will work with an 11spd cassette.

I believe the inner plates on the 12-speed chains are longer "for better chain retention" and the 12sp chainring tooth profile is tweaked to suit. In theory, an 11-speed chain should go on fine. I can check this evening when I get home if needed.
