Frame paint touch up

Hi all. Have a matte-black frame with a couple of significant rub marks that I want to touch up before applying protective patches or film. Any recommendations for how best to do this, what paint to use, etc?
Was thinking of buying some matte-black pain from Bunnings, masking the areas carefully and thoroughly and applying a light spray to the affected areas before leaving to dry over 48 hours or longer and then applying the patches.
Does this sound about right?

It's Not Easy Being Green
If it's a recentish Kona, look for the bag that should have come with it when you got it. Should be touch up paint in there for all colours on the frame.

Sounds about right to me. Curing time is important, but then you're also sealing it in with the film. On that note, it will be the film that determines how matt the finish is, not the paint. You could probably get away with brush on gloss black, so long as you're careful and don't have massive ridges in the paint surface.

Case in point, at work we print on glossy paper then laminate with matt film coz it's cheaper
