Long time no ride...
For more years than I can remember Easter was all about the riding. Over the years the crew has dwindled and changed, then people have kids and holy shit does that throw out Easter! Anyway after riding elsewhere all weekend I made it to the quarry of doom on this beast today. What a great bit of fun that was! I haven't been out there since the middle of last year. There is a few really fun new obstacles, some of the old stuff has deteriorated, and some has been maintained well. Threw the bike over a few big jumps. You'll have to take my word for it though as nobody in the group is any good with a camera and I didn't have my selfie rock.
Anyway to topic - is this the perfect bike for me and the way I ride? Not quite, but it is close enough. I'm considering making a few cockpit changes - slightly longer stem and different shapes bars. This will spell the end of the blue bars, but I have a new orange theme going on...
I picked up some blackspire pedals recently. They are freaking awesome! The platform is huge, plenty of well placed pins, really comfy cradle for the foot...I usually like a significant concave shape, which these don't have. But I was so happy with these that I'll be keeping an eye out for other colours coming into stock.
