VIC FS/Swap: Cheap Road/MTB Commuter (Sz M/L)

Likes Dirt
Item: Commuter Bike Medium/Large
Location: Ringwood, Vic
Item Condition: Used. Good Condition
Reason for selling: No Need
Price and price conditions: $100 or Swap (see below)
Extra Info: I put this bike together as a cheap commuter a few years ago when I was studying so I wouldn't have to chain up an expensive bike all day. Its a mix of road and mountain parts:
  • Alloy Frame, fork are originally from a Fuji road bike (don't remember the model) which I sanded back and gave a new coat of grey paint. Im fairly sure the frame was marked as Large but fits on the smaller side, so I would say its Medium to Large. Can get the tape measure out for anyone seriously interested.
  • Alexrims 700c Road Rims on Formula QR hubs w Vittoria 700x25 tyres.
  • Sram XO 1x9 Speed Derailleur, X9 Shifter, Shimano 11-32 Casette, 38t Raceface NW Chainring.
  • Shimano Deore Cranks and threaded BB.
  • Tektro Cable rim brakes.
  • 100mm FSA XC Stem and Flat Bars with ODI Vans Grips.
Not sure if ill get any interest, but if anyone was after a commuter they didnt have to worry about all day, its better to move it on than have it sitting around.

Im chasing a set of SPD compatible pedals (something with a platform) and a set of brakes (not Sram - already have drawers full) for an old downhill bike im trying to get running again. Would consider swaps for either.

I have some SPD pedals for you if you want. Look like the old DX style (metal cage), except yellow, and don't say DX on them.

Not sure I have a use for the bike though.

Sorry mate, didn't see this reply. Thanks for the offer but the bike is all black, yellow may stand out a bit much.

I'd be happy to let it the bike go for free to someone who will use it. I used it for a little while on a stationary trainer, could be a good Zwift bike for someone who doesn't want to gunk up a something nicer with sweat.

And I forgot I never posted a pic.

It's a classy yellow, I'm sure they'd go great or a $10 spray can at Supercheap auto could probably sort it out if classy yellow isn't your thing.

...super generous offer btw, would still be a bargain at $100, surprised no-ones jumped on it yet!
