Green steel, carbon & Wood(s).

Awesome build, 27.5 wheels aswell!
How you guys find these manufacturers is beyond me, must go shopping when its pay day.

Whats next for the Zerode when this is complete?

Yowsers. Planted.

I've had a few decent rides on this now and have to say I'm fairly happy with it aside from a few teething issues.

I currently can't run 27.5 up front due to the clearance of the tensioner and not being able to get the bottom bracket height high enough. The spring pivot point of the tensioner is in the way and the rear wheel hits it in any other position that's lower than what is currently in. Woods are going to be making up an adjustable length tensioner arm to sort that issue.

Ride wise, is great to be back on steel, is just got that muted, composed feeling. The short rear end is very snappy through tighter turns and berms. Over the rocker stuff the combination of the high pivot and steel does make a difference in smoothing things out somewhat. Not a massive difference to the normal pivot I'm used to, but the difference is there.

This thing is so quiet, I love it! No chain / derailleur flapping about. No angry bees out the back, not even any cable clacking, just tyres on ground and whatever noises the bush throws up.

Pedaling wise, it keeps traction very well on any kind of technical climbing but it does bob somewhat on the smooth climbs, a littler more than the Katipo. I do have the air shock with the firm and lockout settings to give a try down the track.

Overall, very happy so far and here are a few spud phone shots to have a look at.

Looks amazing! I also saw the white one they have at the show on their socials. What works of art!
Reminds me of the old BMX's with just nice welds and tubework.

Is that little device on the back of the belt next to the rear wheel a belt holder/guard of some kind?

Good a few bits on the way and it's out of action until then.

Should hopefully be later in the week and getting an in build UDH snubber and a printed tensioner arm that'll get me the clearance to run full 27.5.

The original tensioner is useless on this beast. Off to the new owner of Katipo!

Such an awesome, unique looking bike.

How did you find Woods to deal with throughout the process?
Really good. This was the first gearbox and belt driven version of the El Camino that they've done, so there were going to be some teething / development issues given they were pretty limited by the existing parts from Gates and Pinion.

Even the parts above are testament to their dedication to get things right and have the frame perform how I wanted when it was purchased.

It's currently running mullet, but the plan was always to run it full 27.5 and this is all part of that.
