Green steel, carbon & Wood(s).

Because I'm a retard and don't know stuff, why for you have this?
Me have this for the adjustable shock position which changes the bottom bracket height.

The higher the bottom bracket was set, the less tension was put on the belt. To get the height right for the 25.7 wheels all round the arm of the tensioner needed to be lengthened to get the correct tension.

The UDH integrated snubber was something Woods wanted to do to make the package nice and neat.

I also got out for a quick ride after sleeping in for about 3 hours longer than planned.

First ride with the Zeb and 27.5 up front and the new printed bits. I do like!! 😁

It was a real rush to get out the door, so I didn't bring any tools or the shock pump, so I've still got done adjusting to do with pressures and angles of things, but very happy so far.

Next step is decals for the frame and forks.

A few spec changes recently.

Giving the Maxxis Forekaster a go on the rear and changed the dropper. Also added a few decals.

Bike looks amazing @wkkie!

Is that photo at Brackenbury Hill?
Edit: saw your other post. Yes it is.

I've been liking the v2 Forekaster on the back, just waiting to burn through the last of my dissectors and think it will be my new go-to.
Oh yeah? I'll have to consider Forekaster when my dissector's die. What are you running front?

I tried it with a Forekaster on the front at Harcourt on a lightweight wheelset and it was great, but I like Assegai's too much to run anything else for most of my riding.

Just casually changed the dropper. No "first silver dropper in Australia" or any of that nonsense.

I want one for my hardtail, just with external routing. Will match my silver/raw/black colour scheme

I was wondering if anyone would notice the dropper... :)

I've got the DHR2 up front.

I'll have to give one a go one of these days. I did have one in 29 not long ago, then didn't run 29 anymore, so not much use for it. 😁

I reckon I have more than a couple used but good 27.5 Assegai's kicking around if you want one to try. I don't have a bike with 27.5 anymore, on the front anyway...

Sounds good to me. Thanks. Are you over Geelong way at all anytime? Or near Boronia?

I used to be down Geelong way a fair bit, but then they cut all the trees down....Negative on Boronia also... im a west/nor-wester....
hmmm this is going to be more difficult than I thought.

Given it a run with the bigger shock today. Marzocchi Bomber Air, 250 X 75 for 200mm travel out back. Put the shock mount in place to get about 348mm bottom bracket height.

Not much difference in pedaling efficiency so far. I'm guessing that's mostly down to the shock still being new and not broken in yet, and / or the different leverage of the shock position.

I ran it mostly full open but did turn the compression adjustor to full closed for one part of the for road climb and there was a good amount of platform. If this is anything like the SR Suntour Triair2, I'm expecting it all to loosen up in a couple of hundred KMs or so.

I did enjoy the extra travel today and didn't seem to slow me down too much up the hills.

So far I'm pretty happy with everything. I possibly did go a little short with the chainstay length, I'd like to try a little longer for a bit more stability on the faster and steeper stuff, but I'm sure that wouldn't be a cheap exercise! Certainly not a deal breaker by any means, just a little curiosity for now.

Head angle also feels a little steeper than the Zerode, wouldn't mind trying an angle set headset sometime down the track, which would be much more manageable price wise than a new rear end! 😁

Experiment time again...

After the recent build of Con the commuter and it's 26 inch rear wheel, I though I'd give it a go in the back of this.

Popped a Minion DHR2 on and changed the end caps to go from 12x135 to 12x142 (thanks Hope), and upped the bottom bracket one position (which is about a 12mm raise) and took out to the Youies for a very quick run.

I didn't give it as much of run at I would like and given the ground was heavy after overnight rain and the legs were heavy after a 110km ride (on this as well) 2 days before, the test wasn't the usual apples with apples, but it was a successful test. Good fun, no issues with ground clearance and felt a little snappier.

To be honest, I'd never really gave this thread a proper read thus far. Just sat down and read through and two things stood out to me:

1) The lengths Woods went to to get everything working (3D printed tensioner arm and UDH belt-snubber). 👌

2) The frame weight! o_O I guess like many things, you don't notice it so much when riding but ooft that's a big number on the scales! 😅

Glad you're still enjoying it!
