James here from Brisbane SE (Bayside)
How old are you?
44 and counting
What state do you live?
Queensland - originally a Mexican though
How long have you been riding?
Lots of riding around as a kid and uni student, only been on mtb's for a year or so
Whats styles of riding do you do?
XC, trail and poor
How often do you ride?
Try to get out a couple of times a week if I can, depends on the dependents...
Tell us about your bike/s?
Giant 2014 XTC 2 and 2015 Trance Advanced 2, both more or less stock although think the carbon frame on the Trance will be a good platform around which to upgrade when skills warrant it and money allows it.
Have you had any significant bike related injuries?
So far only one significant OTB onto the gnarly stump of a small fallen tree, bruising ribs - don't think I cracked any, never got an x-ray. Took about 2 months before the pain was completely gone any time I coughed! Had a more humorous once more recently where I was going downhill under a low leaning tree and a short section of branch neatly hooked the carry handle on the top of my hydration pack and more or less pulled me off the bike like I had a parachute. I swear I could hear the wildlife laughing.
Do you compete and at what level?
Don't think I'm up for it (yet?).
Any cycling highlights worth posting?
Stay tuned...
What forums/subforums do you visit the most on rotor burn?
Mostly ones related to technical discussion on bikes and components so I can learn basic bike maintenance to keep my bikes running well, as well as the banter.
What's your biggest or favourite rant?
Trail etiquette - people that don't even acknowledge you when you've stopped to let them come by...
