Hey guys,
New guy from Canberra.
After many years on a BMX and now with a decent collection of vintage machines, I thought it was time to get into something of a little faster pace and see how another discipline goes.
Getting an MTB was an accidental purchase with a bike coming up for only a few hundred dollars. I had someone look at it while I was out of the country and ended up getting the deal done for just a $50 note.
Now that was a little over two years ago, the bike was in 'as new condition and was advertised as 'Bought to get fit, never lost weight to ride it, barely ridden downhill bike'.
Barely ridden as in the price tag was still on the bike accompanied by all the original stickers and even the paper service manual and booklet, and not one scratch, paint chip or dent. First ride out testing on what I thought was a decent section of track, blew the seal in the front forks. Quite a lesson to drop a handful of cash after the first ride.
The bike presented in the picture is that steed as she sits now, the 2010 Specialized Big Hit 2.
Apologies for the phone picture.

No real modifications apart from the pedals, seat and the handle-grips. Shes had a full rebuild, both shocks rebuilt with all new seals (since they were sitting for so long the seals went? Or so I am told from the bike store), and a decent clean and polish. Coming from a car detailing standpoint, the bike wears a classic ceramic coating (just left overs from my work ute).
Trying to keep it budget friendly while I inspect and research a new bike.

You also might see me around on the Canberra/Bright/Tassie trails with a camera every now and then, I mostly shoot within the automotive scene but MTB is the next challenge.
