At my peak last year I had:
1 dh/fr bike
1 all mountain hardtail
1 29" rigid ss
1 26" dj bike
1 24" street killah
1 bmx
1 carbon roadie
1 flat bar commuter
1 light weight fixie
1 pub bike
A half built 4x hardtail
And a few super rare frames/collectors items

That makes 11ish

I sold them all and went travelling. The 26" dj bike got stolen and now I'm left with an all mountain hardtail (chumba hx1). Just bought a soma double cross as a commuter/road bike/cx bike and I'm looking to add an AM dually + one other bike. Couldn't be happier, I think 4 is the perfect amount for me.

I'd love to find the do it all bike... sadly it doesn't work like that. The garage:

1x 29er hard tail (Wife's do everything bike)
1x 26er hard tail (XC / Commuter)
1x 26er Dual sus (Trail)
1x Roadie (Road / Commuter)

I live in a small two bedroom apartment, where we are installing vertical hanging for our bikes because I have:

XC (Anthem)
Roadie
TT
Fixie

and The Boss has
XC (Marin)
Race roadie
Training/wet weather roadie
Cruiser

which means we can't get to the balcony due to the bikes that are in the way!

I may swap/rebuild the alloy roadie for a cyclocross bike at some future date as I don't ride it much anymore. It was supposed to be a commute bike but the carbon roadie is a lot more fun...

At one stage a couple of years ago I had 7 (3 back in the UK and 4 here) but I've had to give a few away so now I'm down to a singlespeed roadie in the UK, a dirt jumper, a Giant Reign and a roadie over here.

I thought you just drank fine beer and sailed the high seas. It's rare for a mod to actually RIDE bikes, I thought.

And the GF has a Schwinn Fling cruiser.
