How much should I pay for my mates Scott frame?

My mate has a 2008 Scott aspect 2.0 frame for sale. What do you think I should offer for the frame and forks (really good condition)

Looking to build it up over time

ummm, you can buy a complete '09 Scott Aspect 20 for ~1000 bucks complete.... yeah, we know thats not what you were looking for, but it might give you something to work with.

do you have something he might want??? you could just do a plain swap and avoid the cashish transaction.

I saw one of these frames today, look nice but I really, really have how the bottom tube is shaped near the BB. Anyway, I wouldn't pay more than $100 for it. New price is $1000, vast majority of that is in the parts, and remember you shouldn't be paying any more that 50% in a second hand sale unless there is an honest reason. Just to compare, I got a .243 frame (RRP $900) in bloody good nick for under $200, and that was with the cranks, BB, and would've been headset if it wasn't stuffed.
