Hmm, interesting article, problem number one: he doesn't take into account the airflow around the body of the elephant. Yes their maybe no friction between the surface of the elephant and the air flowing around it, but the turbulance created by such an unaerodynamic shape falling at that speed would reduce the terminal velocity large ammounts.
Problem number two: not all of us have the annual debt of a small african nation in our wallets to buy both an african elephant or a space shuttle and land to launch it from.
