So I had an appointment with a specialist yesterday, it seems this is going to be a much longer road than initially eluded to.
3 months till I can drive
6 months till I can work (plumber)
12 months till I can ride MTB (wtf!)
I'm ever the optimist though and he said they were rough guides given the location, the nature of the fractures and my age. If I watch a bunch of wolverine and Deadpool movies I should heal quicker though, right?
This has kinda put the wind up me a bit, I'm pretty mobile and don't have massive issues with the pain so my body isn't screaming at me to sit still. I'm already going a bit bonkers sitting around the last 3 weeks, that's probably not going to get better as the weather improves I imagine.
Plans at this stage are to play with bikes as much as possible, spend a bunch of time on the trainer, volunteer at events, and live out my riding vicariously through the wife and kids. I know I'm not the first person to have a setback like this, but it's a first for me so I'm not stoked about it. Hopefully I'll bounce out the other end swinging.
