It's reigning junkies

One night out partying I came across a local junkie, I mean a lovely young man riding a medium 2012 reign. Talked shit for a bit and I ended up coming home with the bike for $150. Told him COVID tax was over, bikes are worth nothing etc.
Gears were stuffed, forks needed a rebuild but it was all there.
Fast forward a couple of years and my young bloke is going to need a bigger bike. He was born in 2013 so the happy day was 2012, perfect for him.
Strip and cleaned it
Old new stock fork kit, BB bearings, and stuff.
Going back together now. Minus the back wheel. The axle sleeve has snapped and damaged the hub, I think I can just turn up a new sleeve for now and get it going.

Shouldn't be too long and he'll have a big bike.

When you say it's "reigning junkies"... have the spice heads taken over the world when I wasn't looking? I haven't been paying attention lately, so forgive me. I guess Trumpty Dumpty could be classed as a spice head junkie...as long as that spice is Turmeric?

Trumpty Dumpty???? New term for smackies??
Quite a few dead beats turned up in the hills area a while ago (belgrave/ ferntree gully) but seem to be moving on

Life gets in the way of projects sometimes, full-time job/ side job/family gigs.
I got one of the machinist at work to make a new rear axle, I didn't get a pic.
If you hold your fingers apart about this much.............. that's the diameter.. and then imagine it's about this long (2 fingers on each hand held apart) with a thread on each end. That's what it looks like.

Mostly back together now as I got it with some stuff from the parts bin.

Put my spare chain guard on, for a 36T so it a bit oversized.

He saw it for the first time last night.
It needs a paint job apparently.
I reckon black with a flame job and 80's metal font. Reign of fire.
Kinda don't want to give it to the kids now, I can ride it and yell 26" all the time..
Ooooh better idea.
Chrome stickers on a black frame.
26" for life
I just need to find my old commencal dhv1 supreme and buy that back.
