been riding bikes since i was 4, only got into mountain bikes 4 months ago.

im more a dirtjumper but i like to explore some tracks and stuff

friday nights

sleep 9:00pm - 7:30am

breakfast: 6 weet-bix, 375ml of juice

lunch: 2 salad, tomato, ham, cheese and mayo sandwiches

snacks: banana's, packet of chips(occasionally), yoghurt

dinner: steak, mash potato, pasta and veges

drinks: 2-3 litres of water and a glass of cordial a day

excercise: riding up mountains arond 200-300m high and back down 2-3 times, afternoon fitness (gym workouts, running, fitness)

time: 8:30am- 5:00pm
distance: 20-30km
elevation: 200-300m
moving time: 08:30:00?

thats mine, your slacking way heaps in your diet and sleep and 1230m of elevation? thats quite a bit? and 60 or so kilometers? thats crazy are you sure?

Been slacking off abit lately training wise, but I have been sore from racing so its all good. One of my more recent rides from a week ago.

I attempted to keep a fast pace with NO stops or breaks.

You've got your sleep and diet going good. Just focus on where you want to be and you'll get there.

And yes, 1230m elevation, some people do double that on some rides that ive seen on strava.

Todays training was a 4km school cross country, my phone would not work so i couldnt use strava. Came 2nd and now my legs a sore and muscles feel tight.

got a 2hr xc race sunday morning so time for some recovery :)

Todays food

Breakfast: 3 energy bar things

Lunch: iced coffee, some more bars, apple,

Dinner: dont know yet. probably meatballs and veg.

the weekends training/racing

Sunday morning was the Townsville rockwheelers XC2, it was a 2 hour race where the rider had to do as many laps possible within the time limit. I managed to do 4 laps and missed my last lap by about 3 minutes on the 8km coarse.

Managed to place 2nd in my category 5 seconds behind the lead. At the end me and the lead rider were sprinting to the end but once we hit the little climb before the finish my legs died and i dropped back.

Sunday

Food:

Breakfast: 3 oat bars and a milo

Lunch: 1 hotdog

Dinner: satay chicken

Sleep: 10pm-5:30am

Elevation: 858m

Moving Time: 02:02:06

Max Speed: 41.8km/h

A bit of an update on the first post.

Also i have cut back on the maccas and hungry jacks i use to eat during rides. I have also been having hardly any 2L milks as well mainly water and the odd cup of softdrink.

I have a 50km race this sunday so im hoping for a win this time and no mechanicals for once this year.

One of my latest rides ive done on my vertex is this:

Distance: 100.5km

Elevation: 1,285m

Moving Time: 4hr:26min:12sec

Elapsed Time 4hr:35min:43sec

Max Speed: 61.2km/h

Avg Speed: 22.7km/h

Next week if im motivated enough i will try and ride a 500km week since its school holidays. Ill aim for 100km a day but 500km will be enough for me.
