Fuck the chilli peppers. Fuck their middle of the road MMM 'edgy' music and fuck their seedy rat of a lead singer.

I made the mistake of reading Scar Tissue. Was the most deluded, self-serving, offensive and badly written pile of shite ive ever read.

Haha, that's gold, I liked Love Rollercoaster but probably only because I remember Beavis and Butthead when I hear the song. I would also like to throw in Foo Fighters for producing Mediocre cock rock for a whole bunch of years and now Gaslight Anthem and Rise Against are in the same boat/bargain bin. It was pretty funny to see Rise Against in the bargain bin with NickleBack and Iggy Whatever.

Hmm. I'm kinda hearing you on the Foos but it's just too hard to dislike Dave Grohl, their first album was pretty sweet and that Sonic Highways series they did was ace. (apart from the last 6 minutes or so of every episode when they brought out the MOR tunes.)

Also he's keeping Pat Smear in work so that's nice.

And I had forgotten just how much the announcers go on and on and on about how much they love this weeks latest lesbian goat herder from Inner Mongolia who has had no musical training at all and was discovered by some hipster shit head trekking through the country side searching for something authentic.

Yeah Triple J does play some rubbish but I'd go crazy if I had to listen to commercial stations. Last year I did one day at a job that played an Austereo station and as I finished up I got a call about a new job so I quit, screw listening to Iggy Arseholia three times a day if you do OT. Everyone at the other job listened to JJJ, I was very happy......................Until Courtney Barnett came on.

Blood Sugar Sex Magik was an inspired masterpiece and still one of my favourite albums of all time. Everything after that was either just meh or blatantly triple M (worst music insult I know....).

They are also absolutely woeful live...Walked away from their stage at a BDO many mnay years ago to watch someone else...

Triple J is unbearable... I gave up when started playing rap and hiphop, or even worse australian hip hop (my only exception is Skunkhour, but thats bluring the definition a a bit) and started saying intolerable shit like "hit me up at the jays" and assorted other insufferable hipster/bogan mangling of a perfectly functional english language....

Ahhhhh nope. It is littered with efforts at commercial cross over. I always wondered if they or the studio/label came up with the idea. Has some good tunes, but it was very much the beginning of the end. Much like Metallica's black album.

It is also is the soundtrack to a very entertaining year of a reasonably misspent youth - so that always colours the memory a bit I still enjoy it though - but it very much a studio album and sounds aweful when they try to do it live!

They are not much of a live band. i attended their One Hot Minute tour...The 'gurge were very good.

Triple J's states that the target audience is 18-24, when you are that age it probably sounds good after that it's normal for people to say it used to be good. I love punk music but hey, times change and so does music so I don't expect to hear that much but you still get the odd Pennwise or NOFX track. I think they play more old gold since JJ kicked off, Forty Six and Two was on the other day, that made me happy.
