Bitch, please. My young boy lives to ride. Eats, sleeps, dreams riding. And he’s about to have seemingly Minor elbow operation, which will leave him unable to ride for at least 12 weeks. He will miss at least part of the local downhill series that he was determined to destroy this year.

Probably because every laptop has different hardware hence drivers need to suit said differences.

Apple can be a bit more selective with less hardware choices to babysit.

The only need I ever have for windows is two or three pieces of software that’s windows only and the laptop was a freebie...

Yes, being chained to 'stuff that works' like iTunes which has always been a royal PITA when you actually want to do what they don't want you to do. iDevices are generally restrictive in nature. Upgrading the Mrs Macbook was also something I don't want to mess with again.

I do get it and avoid where possible which isn't always easy.
I'm glad you are willing to persist in paying a premium in time and money to do what an ecosystem you chose voluntarily only permits you to do.

Run your windows VM to do the minimal and move on.

Neither a Mac, PC or strain of Linux is difficult to use aside from the learning curve for each. Familiarity makes things easier.

iTunes is a long term inexcusable piece of rubbish that shouldn't require alternatives to be found outside an 'ecosystem'.

I'm still glad I gave a way my old iPod a few years ago. Admittedly it is still going strong which is a solid tick for the hardware itself.

Got any friends in IT? Ask them what they think of Macs. Or even better, integrating them into a corporate network.

LTIH. Apple users thinking their pieces of shit are in any way shape or form adequate for anything.

E.g. I'm building a new house and specify cat 6e ethernet to every room. The architect asks why do I want that, the Apple airport system works great in their office. Bitch please, can airport support 10Gbps? Can I watch porn in 4k from every room in the house at the same time. How about stuff that involves making money like iScsi and big ass econometric models on my home server. No? Then keep your Apple rubbish to yourself and just get me the fucking cat 6e.
