It shouldn't be that hard, rim/tyre combo makes a world of difference.I ken hate tubeless! Bugger me, finally got the new tubeless rim tape, removed the old wrinkled Stan's tape, even put in a new valve core. Pumped away on the track pump and up she came, but would the POS stay up? Turned on the air compressor to quickly inflate and bead up on the rim. Within 2 minutes it was flat again and of course sealant spilt liberally in the garage. Only choice left to hit it with the compressor again and leave it running until enough sealant fills in the leaks.
EewwwwIt shouldn't be that hard, rim/tyre combo makes a world of difference.
As for tape, for $15, this has worked for the last week or so.

this stuff?Bummer that the long-time RB fave blue Bear tape from Bunnies doesn't seem to exist any more, or is just damn near impossible to find now......That stuff was the best when you needed as thin a tape as possible because the rim tolerance was so tight, but was strong enough to not bulge into the spoke holes & split.....

Nope, there used to be a non-cloth type that was really good. Thin and plasticky, slightly stretchy - but very resistant to tearing.this stuff?

Nope, that's more like a typical paper-based masking tape. It's not very waterproof and tears easily.

It's only 24mm wide. I do have some at home, but I can't disclose the specs as I'm thinking of using it as a sample and starting an international rim-tape sales conglomerate.@The Duckmeister @beeb
Do you guys still have any left, or the packaging? what are the dimensions? ie Width x Length
Any other info that would be useful. As well as any other acceptable alternatives
I have a bit of time to do some searching. it will distract me from buying more parts and stuff I don't really need.
eg There's a Bear PVC electrical tape but it's only 18mm wide, as well as an 'all-weather tape'

This Teva tape from AliExpress is just as good.Bummer that the long-time RB fave blue Bear tape from Bunnies doesn't seem to exist any more, or is just damn near impossible to find now......That stuff was the best when you needed as thin a tape as possible because the rim tolerance was so tight, but was strong enough to not bulge into the spoke holes & split.....
Is that the stuff with the crinkly folds running across it? If so it's yellow now (although possibly discontinued now too...).Well, this is fucked. Turns out Bunnings don't stock that 3M ScotchBlue shit I've been using for years anymore.
