Could the authorities not just have moved Dobby's grave to a different location, one they didnt care if morons came and pilled up rocks at?
 
I am glad to see David McBride has been liberated (well he did serve his full sentence i believe) from prison. However it is disappointing that prosecuting the perpetrators of war crimes is taking a lot longer.

Let this be a stern warning to those who might blow a whistle!

Prosecute those that reveal war crimes, dont prosecute the perpetrators.

Yes customer service is being subsumed by tech that doesnt work about 50% of the time.
When, if ever, will the adoration of tech cease or will the sheep just support it ?
 
honestly, with how long passwords companies are forcing you to have to apply to their jobs they should be forced to read every damn application.

Friend of mine is a High Court judge in the ACT; she is not at all conservative.

She says people are swallowing the media narrative on this guy far too easily. She says he was very self-serving in his actions and that if people actually read the court documents they would see very plainly that McBride's actions were not that of a whistleblower.

I support whistle-blowing (when done properly for the right reasons) and have reserved my judgement on this case until I never get around to reading the court docs.
 
Well I stand corrected . The media has no depth and tries for a rage bait so its biased.
Neverthe less Australia has to decide whether to take a moral line or kill the bastards like Russia , USA and Israel.
I think in principle the concept of war crimes is a useful one for the victors to prosecute the losers.
 
I liked the google when it started you got info - Then you start getting tailored info - then you start getting targeted info - I am old enough to remember when you told people to google something they would be kinda ok - Then we got the generation that grew up with google and just plain old believe it and people that cant critically think so when they have a computer issue for example they google it and click on the Virus links or the Scammers phones - Now we have AI.

So long story long AI is now getting the cult following from people that cant do anything with out AI and just blindly trust the results - Facebook posts when people ask for help now feature the response of "Just ask AI" - The junior at work I asked them the arrange the tubes by just putting all the sizes together and from biggest to smallest (this way when we want a tube we know exactly where to get it) - I come back and this convoluted mish mash of sizes and Heavy duty vs normal stacked vertically instead of horizontally like I asked and She proudly goes "I took photos and Chat GPT said to do it this way" - I don't mind she took the opportunity to explore other options - and I wasn't the one that had to rearrange it into a usable format - My Hate is that there is now people that cant do anything with out AI and they are not experienced enough to think differently (or unable to) - My new phone is now full of AI features that will just give me a summary instead of the actual info if I allow it

FB and YT AI slop is also another one. We are at the stage now where the content bottom of the barrel can be seen.
Social Media companies used AI bots to generating believable looking crap for endless human scrolling consumption.

They are all investing huge amounts of $$$ in the new gold rush so there has to be some Return On Investment at some point. How that pans out for the consumer that is accustomed to internet 'free' things remains to be seen. Get folks hooked with free token usage then introduce fees when they just can't be without AI anymore, which I think is a pretty likely course.

If the bubble bursts then it will be cut price hardware for all, unless Skynet goes all out to defend the power supply. :cool:

Speaking of cut price hardware - Did you see the ram issue going on - If you return faulty ram currently (in many places) they insist on refunding not replacing due to the cost disparity between when people bought and now - So you cant replace the ram for any where the near the refund you get.

Who 'da thunk we would have RAM commodity market now. SSD's have almost tripled in price too.
