Little Things You Love

Missed this but international testing standards for helmets now allowed in Aus. So that UK only helmet can now be sold in Aus.

I was pretty keen on one of these helmets, but then found a Leatt heavily discounted so snapped that up instead.

That would have been handy when pre-enshittification & collapse CRC/Wiggle were still trading

Was looking at getting a Ohlins TTX2 air from Nsdynamics on sale. Thought I better check my Raaw Madonna V2 order first. My past self had it all under control. Nice!

Saddle I had on the Hardtail was...... not the greatest. I am usually pretty indifferent to saddles and tent to just ride whatever but this was unbearable (It was something I picked up cheap years ago but never got around to using)

Swung past the LBS to talk saddles. They only really had some fancy ones on the shelf. The bike shop owner knows me fairly well, so he had a look out the back and just grabbed me one taken off a new bike, slung him a couple of bucks and we are good to go. Will give it a test this week. Love having a good LBS

This Little Legend has done it tough. Already on his second step dad, mum does nothing with him, he's more of an inconvenience than anything else. Nanna is the one who brings him out to race. He pipped Little Sender by one point.

The joy in his voice when he realised his name was engraved on the Champions Trophy was next level cool to hear.
Nice. Little things like that can be transformative for kids at that age.

end of school year.
LTIH = a large chunk of parents at end of school year events. Everyone wants to see their kid perform. Can hardly see through the sea of phones, let alone the ones who think i'll just walk up the centre aisle to the front and stand there to record it. is it that uncommon to stand at the back or sides to record so everyone else gets to see still?

Photographs and filming are prohibited at all the events we host with children performing. We play the child protection card and most people pretty quickly put their phone away. Most of the organisations have their own photographer for the events etc so parents can have a much better quality recording of their kids on stage.
