one of those things ive been always meaning to do was revist a nice corner of the botanic gardens but never seemed to get there. Too far in the back corner so family complains. Made the decision to take the day off and getting to the succulent garden was the whole goal. and it was every bit as nice as i remembered from so many years ago. Sunny winters day, got there before any crowds. so often things dont live up to the memory but not this. Rivercat in wasnt bad either.

havent been to cockatoo island in a couple of years, no one got off when we went by a bit after 9 so think an early visit there when its empty is one for another day off. for the price of public transport its a bargain of a day outRivercat in Sydney is a good trip.

I got my old bike back. It's just an early noughties GT Avalanche, but it was mine.
I gave it to a friend who eventually abandoned it and moved overseas.
It has seen better days.
The best bit is my eldest is the right size to ride it, so we will fix it up together.
Oh, and there is this old sticker on the seat tube:
I will put up a PYR when it's fixed up.

A long time ago go the Manly Ferry and Hydrofoil used to be my commute. So good.
Coming home at night a flock of seagulls would ride the wind coming off the bow of the ferry once it got up to speed. You would watch them get to the front where the lift would drop off and they would get spat to the back, never collecting their friends. Was mesmerising.
