Little Things You Love

As much as this hurts its great we can walk in when needed.
@tubby74 - get well soon mate, but you're 100% on what you say. We're bloody lucky to have ER's.

I wish there was more urgent care clinics around to take the unnecessary burden off them though - ie: the "my child's got a slight cough and a temp 0.5deg above normal, they need attention now!" types.

LTIH, hospital carparks.
The weirdest thing I find is being single/not having someone available to drive me and going to the ER. Where should I park? If you park in the general hospital parking and were to end up getting admitted for surgery, by the time you got out your car would just about have been impounded! 😬

Followup and the back pain got too much and im in the ER. As much as this hurts its great we can walk in when needed. Nurses seem concerned might be a kidney issue.
Sorry to hear mate. Back pain is the worst.

Almost as bad as back pain, and may be designed to cause it. Seemingly constructed so anything bigger than a VW Polo isn't fitting if you also intend to get out of it afterwards.

I have taken myself to the ED via taxi, bus, bike, friend, but not an ambulance since I was a kid. Actually nope...ambulance after a crash in nz a while back. That was a wild ride from the remarkables into town! One of the other patients threw up everywhere as soo as the journey started.

Once I scored a free lift home from the ed in a limo!

Taxi would be a reasonable option for non-critical stuff. Being regional unless you were very lucky with the timing, the bus would be a very long wait.

The last visit was for a "I think this bone might be broken...", so I was okay driving in but didn't think about parking until I got there. I found a spot nearby with free on-street parking nearby and walked there in the end. Anything life-threateningly urgent I'd be calling for a van with flashing lights.

Shark notwithstanding (see LTIH) hard not to love some of Sydney's beaches (still love my local, the 'bra the best though!)

heal up quick mate 🙏

I'm pretty certain Dante mentioned hospital car parks in one of the circles of Hell.

Back pain is the worst! Hope things get better real soon.

As the tail end of the season rolls around, the hordes of Australians that usually crowd out the well known nagano ski fields quickly thin out. It's so good not having to undertake a mad scramble for dinner each night.

Surely a visit to any 7/11 in Japan is all that discerning gent like yourself would ever need for tasty dinner treats.

Funny thing...I had a client earlier in the season (not their first time on a tour with me) who confessed to only eating from the conbini when they were solo around tokyo, osaka, etc...every time they have been here. I couldn't figure out if this was from being a right arse or a dunce. In most locations my accommodation partners provide breakfast and dinner. For myself, if I am in a jam and have to do a conbini dinner it always works out more expensive than a stand up style restaurant. I thought as a nation of travelling pests we had developed a little sense of adventure?

Now to finish my cafe latte and get back to the slush!
