Live Music Thread

To each their own but I find them, and her in particular, to be absolutely f$%^ing abysmal. Have tried on a number of occasions to understand the hype but I just don't get it. Which I'm sure bothers them greatly.....
Yep, tried to listen to bits of a few "songs" to feel what the hype is about, and just went "nup". A better vocalist could maybe do something with the music, but she is just shit.

Kinda like Sleaford Mods, I like them for the punk energy and the anger, not the polish. Plenty of great acts with amazing singers out there too. something for everyone out there.

Everclear, 30th anniversary of Sparkle and Fade album. Great song writing on that album, the single Santa Monica is probs the weakest song on the album. Was great to hear the whole album played live.

Ive seen this tour advertised pretty heavily. I was surprised by the venue size they chose around you. Surely off the back of santa Monica alone they could have packed out a much bigger show?

Wasn't that long ago Art Alexakis was playing tiny pubs like the Cleveland Sands Hotel as a solo tour. Perhaps it's accepted that it just wasn't feasible to chase the bigger venues?

It could also be that is the sweet spot for maximum profits. Bigger venues don't come cheap, more advertising, higher risk, and so on.

Quite a different scenario, but a few years back the proclaimed toured. Locally there was a sold out show (~1500) at which they played 500 miles twice in an extended format. The crowd fucking loved it. I knew a few people there who all said they would have been just as happy if they just played different sing-along versions of that song for 2 hours, perhaps even happier.

Good Things was alright - farken hot day at 41 degrees, really surprised by how well crowd behaved - only saw a few people who took it too far / got caught out drinking (etc) in the heat.

Refused were great, so glad I got to see them. Garbage were really good too, and Weezer was a nice chill set in the evening. GWAR and Machine Head were entertaining and really got crowd going (so many people covered in fake blood from GWAR's efforts).

Tool put together an excellent set, mesmerizing and a good mix of tracks:

Stinkfist
Rosetta Stoned
Fear Inoculum
The Grudge
H.
Jambi
Pneuma
Prison Sex
Invincible
Vicarious

@droenn Thats a hell of a setlist from Tool. They truly are amazing to see live, some of my best memories from live shows over the years are the Tool experience.

And how bad is Shirley Manson's form. What a cooked idiot she is. I wish someone lobbed a bottle at her face for not only going on about the beach ball thing but using the stage to babble about Palestine. Seriously shut up, if you aren't doing anything helpful about someone else's situation then zip it you stinking hippy.

Justice at the Entertainment Centre.
Farkin AMAZING show. Loud, clean clear floor shaking subs. The light show was something I have not seen before. The place was like a warehouse rave.. Top night.
Best comment I heard in the dunnies afterwards "well, that was a bit excessive don't you think?". Laughed
