Really interesting to see 2 nights ago, Cav seemed to not be arsed in the final sprint when he realised he wouldn't be winning. Perhaps he couldn't be effed stepping onto the podium for less than gold and fell to fourth? Or just because he had a buster earlier? All the sprinters seem to have had their struggles but Sagan is still fighting, reckon he will keep the green.
He sat up on the line allowing Kittel to get third. If its not for a win, at least try and get the points to stay in contention.

is it just me or does Cav appear to be a pretentious little prat? I suppose if I had more watts than personality I could be excused but then again.. Sagan is looking like a dodgy porn star. Love it!.

still waiting for some Cofidis or Movistar rider to be up on blocks for being on the gear.. I got $50 on a rider in the first 2 weeks.. not being cynical though ;)

Is it just me or has Cadels team completely useless. He had fuck all help all the while TJ was hanging out the back with BMC team mates for company. Don't mention the team time trail. Mutiny lead by the snotty little TJV
That young Columbian Movistar rider was amazing on the first climb and Sky- was super solid - R. Porte you rock. Now Froome has won could you please go an help out Cadel

As for the Wallabies, the worst performance by an Australian rugby team in recent memory. The All Blacks must be quaking in their boots in regards to facing the Aussies

Send Graves to help Cadel and Rennie to the Wallabies

^ yeah it does seem that way doesn't it. Froome was in the same boat last year, except he kept pulling. Now Froome has his chance and he's making the most of it. Maybe Porte will get his chance soon. It's a public arena, and a team sport. TJVG should prob be careful with his little protests or no one will want him...
The stage last night is a prelude of more to come methinks.

I still stand by mu prediction that Porte will podium this year, and he will also win the TDF within the next 5 years.

It happens every year, Cadel finds himself out in the open on his own... Where's my team?!

Oh for sure, Porte isn't far off having his own team in the next few. I know they carved it up last year but imagine if they had Wiggins this year, last night would've been a massacre. Dunno what Sky are smoking but going 1-2 while dropping Cadel, Contador, Schleck and Valverde (who did very well) is pretty insane.

It's something about Cadel I'd say, he's never had a decent team which is a shame because he would have more then one yellow by now if a high paying team had picked him up and put some money behind him.

We're supposed to believe road cycling has moved on to a 'new clean era', Sky took the piss last night. Too bad the Tour GC contender is now sorted unless another team juices up to the same levels, the farce of road cycling continues :mad2:

I'd say Cadel's performance was pretty reasonable, not his best, but OK.

BUt froome did 3rd fastest time in history for that climb. As fast as Armstrong. Calculated at around 6.5w/kg.

No wonder Cuddles lost 4 minutes.

And I'm sure I'll get slammed for it, but Porte's performance is pretty suspicious too.

I think Im giving up watching road cycling.

No slamming here I agree with you regarding Porte, and Sky is the USPS of the current era. Just think if they had Chief Wiggans riding it's likely Sky would have the top three GC positions stitched up, completely believable of course.

Don't they all do blood passports now? Not saying you're wrong just wondering how it would be possible?

That's the million dollar question!

Yes, there is a passport but it is very questionable whether sufficient, targeted samples are being taken to make it suitably robust.

Also, the passport tests for manipulation of blood parameters, there is a whole new world of peptides out there (looking at you Essendon) that are essentially undetectable and MAY be of benefit to endurance athletes.

And finally, the UCI is a very, very dodgy organisation.

The biologocal passport program is good in theory and a great marketing exercise but the wonderful organisation of the UCI only throw the occasional rider under the bus, most are protected.

Yeah, fair enough. But look at Lance. Sure he's kept all his money, he hasn't served jail time, still has plenty of earning potential, but he'll never ride in international competition again, and Oprah was a bit cross. Hmmm, who said cheaters never prosper?

Froome just seemed to be trying too hard to convince everyone he was clean in the interview after the race especially with the "I promise I'm clean" statement!

How was the 23 year old Colombian climbing- that was something special. The last person I saw climb like that was Contador, now look at him. Are they really on the juice, the romantic in me still holds some hope- just donated my lance books to st Vinnies

'3rd fastest in history' is that info online somewhere? I'm a bit suspicious of performances that are extraordinary look at Nabali's in the Giro, then again surely its been cleaned up and they wouldn't risk it with the current and future testing, surely Lance is a big example of that. then again what happened to Schleck and contador, have seemed to slow a bit and wiggins (no juice/no defend?) with all the history of doping there's so many uncertainties and lack of creditability.

oh well, it's been a great tour so far for aussie riders/teams, pity about cadel, and as usual france looks great in the coverage or is that Photoshopped as well.
