M8000 derailleur bracket axle unit.

Hey All,

Does anyone know if the M786 bracket axle unit fits an M8000 derailleur?

Asking for a mate who can’t find a specific 8000 one locally. I have the M786 bau at home and I seemed to think they are identical despite different part numbers. I’m currently in the US so I can’t check.

The M781/786 and M8000 BAUs are different, but as far as I can tell are interchangeable. From what I can judge, the only incompatibility is between the pre- and post-direct mount-compatible update versions.

So basically everything 9-sp. Shadow except M4000 Alivio & M3000 Acera, and early 10-sp. (so M972 9-sp. & M980/985 10-sp. XTR, M772 9-sp, M773, 780 & 785 10-sp. XT, M662 9-sp, M663 10-sp. SLX, M592 9-sp. & M593 10-sp. Deore) is pre-update, and one family of interchangeable mounts, and everything after - M981/986 & M9000 XTR, M781/786 & M8000 XT, M670/675 & M7000 SLX, M610/615 & M6000 Deore, M4000 Alivio and M3000 Acera is another family of interchangeable mounts, but incompatible with the first group.
